American Pie: Empty Nesters (2028)

Posted on July 11, 2026

Starring: Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott

Nearly thirty long years after their infamous and unforgettable high school pact Jim played by Jason Biggs and Michelle played by Alyson Hannigan are now facing their most terrifying and emotionally daunting milestone yet. Their youngest son Evan brought to life by Finn Wolfhard is finally graduating from high school. As the East Great Falls High Class of 2028 eagerly prepares for their senior prom the original gang nostalgically returns to their beloved hometown for a massive and highly anticipated reunion.

Things take a hilariously chaotic and unexpected turn when Jim inadvertently snoops on the personal computer of his son. Jim is absolutely shocked to discover that Evan and his closely knit group of friends have made a highly secretive pact of their very own. However instead of focusing on losing their virginity like the previous generation the highly anxious and hyper stressed generation of kids have boldly vowed to throw the most absolutely unhinged rule breaking and completely off the grid party the quiet town has ever witnessed before they all separate and head off to their respective colleges across the country.

Desperate to completely stop their naive kids from making the exact same catastrophic and highly illegal mistakes that they did in their own youth Jim frantically calls upon his lifelong best friends Kevin played by Thomas Ian Nicholas Oz played by Chris Klein and Finch played by Eddie Kaye Thomas for a top secret undercover parenting mission. However their well intentioned plans are constantly and hilariously derailed by the brand new and shockingly strict Principal of East Great Falls High who is none other than the legendary Steve Stifler portrayed by Seann William Scott.

In a bizarre twist of fate Stifler has somehow miraculously weaponized his intense obnoxious and chaotic energy into successfully running a flawless zero tolerance academic institution. He will absolutely stop at nothing to aggressively bust the unsanctioned and wild party to maintain his perfect administrative record. Meanwhile the father of Jim played by the iconic Eugene Levy inevitably arrives on the scene to graciously offer his signature brand of uncomfortably candid and overly detailed advice. This time his awkward wisdom is directly targeting the deep existential dread and lingering sadness of becoming an empty nester.

As the desperate parents awkwardly attempt to sneakily infiltrate the secret woodland rave to shut it down they inevitably and comically get sucked directly into the nostalgic chaos of the wild night. Surrounded by the vibrant energy of youth they slowly begin realizing that they might actually be the ones who desperately need to let loose and finally relax after years of stressful parenting. Packed to the brim with deeply cringe inducing misunderstandings the beloved signature raunchy humor of the franchise and a highly surprising amount of genuine generational heart Empty Nesters stands as a wildly raucous and deeply touching reminder that no matter exactly how old you get or how much responsibility you take on growing up is truly a lifelong and hilarious process.
