Angel Reese Fans Furious Over Baby Pacifier Taunts at Championship Parade

Angel Reese fans are furious after the Golden State Valkyries taunted the Atlanta Dream star during their WNBA championship parade in San Francisco.

Festus Ezeli, a former Golden State Warriors player, was seen on one of the Valkyries parade floats holding up a shirt depicting Reese doing the “too small” gesture.

The shirt replaced Reese’s face with the crying Michael Jordan meme.

Other parade-goers reportedly waved baby pacifiers and “too small” signs aimed directly at Reese.

The taunts come just days after the Valkyries defeated the Dream 68-63 in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals at Chase Center.

Reese scored only 8 points in that decisive game.

Within 24 hours of the loss, she announced a six-month sabbatical from public attention.

In a lengthy social media post, Reese wrote, “I’m still numb from how it ended, but I realize not many get to experience this in just their 3rd year in the league.”

She added, “Every loss is a lesson & sometimes it’s not NO, just NOT YET.”

The parade drew an estimated 400,000 fans to the streets of San Francisco.

The Valkyries won the title in only their second season, making it the fastest expansion-team championship in WNBA history.

The previous record was held by the Seattle Storm, who won in their fifth season in 2004.

Ezeli, who won an NBA championship with the Warriors in 2015, has maintained strong ties to the Bay Area since his playing career ended.

He now works as an analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area.

He has also been seen speaking with Valkyries guard Kate Martin on occasion.

Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg also got in on the action, clapping back at Reese with a similar gesture right after Game 7.

Reese’s own history with the “too small” taunt is what makes the backlash particularly pointed.

In Game 3 of the Finals, Reese directed the taunt toward the Valkyries’ bench, specifically targeting Golden State center Aminata Gueye.

She also seemingly called Gueye a “bum” after the 97-71 blowout win that gave Atlanta a 2-1 series lead.

The Valkyries then won three of the next four games to take the title.

Gabby Williams led Golden State in Game 7 with 30 points, putting the finishing touches on the championship.

Williams averaged 19 points per game on 32 percent shooting in the series.

Reese, who came to Atlanta through a blockbuster trade from Chicago, averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds on 40 percent from the field and 37 percent from three throughout the Finals.

She led the Dream in rebounding and was third in scoring.

Despite the Finals loss, Reese had a historic season.

She set new WNBA records for most rebounds in a game and most rebounds in a season.

She also set the record for most double-doubles in a single campaign.

Reese earned her third straight All-Star selection and her first Defensive Player of the Year award.

Meanwhile, teammate DeWanna Bonner and rookie Isobel Borlase have shown public support for Reese.

Borlase posted a thank-you message on Instagram after the season, and Reese commented, “proud of you, izzyyyyy.”

Bonner also commented, “Izzzz!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Bonner joined the Dream late in the regular season after reaching a buyout agreement with the Phoenix Mercury.

She is a two-time WNBA champion and is set to enter free agency this offseason.

It remains unclear whether she will return to Atlanta for another run.

Reese’s sabbatical announcement has drawn mixed reactions.

Some fans see it as a necessary break after a grueling season.

Others view it as avoiding accountability after a championship collapse.

The parade taunts have only intensified the debate.

Barstool Sports covered the incident with a headline reading, “Angel Reese Fans Are PISSED She Got Taunted With Baby Pacifiers & ‘Too Small’ Signs At The Golden State Valkyries Championship Parade, So Let’s Review Her Track Record Of Sportswomenship.”
