Brittany Mahomes Breaks Silence on Patrick’s NFL Controversy

Brittany Mahomes has broken her silence on Patrick Mahomes’ latest move — but it has nothing to do with football.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s wife shared a video on her Instagram story Wednesday.
The video came from the UT Tyler Patriots soccer team’s account.
Patrick Mahomes and Adidas gifted each player on the team a pair of Adizero EVO SL ATR cleats.
The Patriots posted the clip showing their excitement.
“Getting postseason ready,” the team wrote.

Brittany Mahomes dropped a heart emoji in the comments under the original post.
She also reposted the video to her own Instagram story.
The 31-year-old is a former college soccer star at UT Tyler.
She later played professionally for Afturelding/Fram in Iceland.
Today, she is a founding co-owner of the NWSL’s Kansas City Current.
Her reaction comes as the Chiefs face a storm of criticism.

Kansas City lost 28-24 to the Denver Broncos last Sunday.
It was their second straight defeat after starting the season 5-0.
Patrick Mahomes played well in the loss — 30-of-41 passing for 321 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
But the game ended in controversy.
A false start penalty on offensive tackle Jaylon Moore wiped out a potential game-winning touchdown pass to Rashee Rice in the fourth quarter.
Brittany reacted to that call on her Instagram story.

“You can’t tell me you call that on a game winning TD,” she wrote.
“That’s the weakest call I have ever seen. You can’t tell me otherwise.”
The Chiefs dropped to 5-2 after the loss.
Meanwhile, a separate debate has erupted over the team’s refusal to use quarterback sneaks.
Patrick Mahomes told reporters he is willing to run the play.
But head coach Andy Reid has reportedly been reluctant to call it.

Travis Kelce weighed in on the penalty controversy Wednesday on the New Heights podcast.
His brother Jason Kelce said the false start was “definitely a penalty.”
Travis agreed: “Yeah, he flinches.”
But the tight end refused to blame the loss on the call alone.
“At the end of the day, we still had another play,” Travis said.
“I’ll take my guy Pat Mahomes on the six-yard line with the game on the line, I’ll take that any day of the week.”

The Chiefs now prepare to host the New York Jets on Sunday.
The Jets are 2-6 and coming off a 33-point performance against the Raiders.
Geno Smith will start at quarterback for New York.
Smith said his focus is on the Chiefs defense, not Patrick Mahomes.
“I’m going up against their defense and he’ll be facing ours,” Smith said.
“My job is, again, every time we get the ball, we want to score points.”
Brittany Mahomes’ off-field gesture has drawn attention away from the noise.
She remains one of the most watched NFL wives.
Her support for Patrick and the team is clear — even when she disagrees with the officials.
