Enzo Amore Spotted Backstage at WWE NXT Amid Return Rumors

Potentially Returning Star Enzo Amore Reportedly Visited Backstage At WWE NXT.
It's been quite the 2026 for Enzo Amore, especially since he hasn't appeared on American wrestling TV at all.
And yet, Amore has often been in the news, having been rumored to be returning to WWE earlier this year after being spotted at the Performance Center, only for the return to not materialize, only for recent reports to suggest he would be coming back to WWE after all.
That's speculation that will only continue, as Fightful Select reports that Amore, alongside TNA star Joe Alonzo, were spotted at the WWE Performance Center on Wednesday prior to that night's "NXT" episode.

While Fightful could not confirm that Amore had signed with WWE and noted that Amore and Alonzo were merely visiting, his presence at the tapings sends a strong signal that Amore could be back in the WWE fold.
In previous reporting, it was suggested that Amore would be returning to WWE as part of the "NXT" brand and not the WWE main roster, information that was surprising to some given his previous tag team with Big Cass.
Cass himself returned to WWE from AEW earlier this year, and is currently wrestling on "Raw" as an ally to new WWE Intercontinental Champion Ethan Page.
Interestingly enough, WWE may not have been Amore's only option, as those within AEW say the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion had "tested the waters" about potentially joining them earlier this year.

It's unclear whether AEW had any interest in signing Amore, or if the two sides had any significant talks.
Amore had raised eyebrows earlier this year when a video featuring him and Maven Huffman saw him be highly critical of AEW; it was later revealed the video had been filmed a year before it was posted, and Amore was highly complimentary of the promotion for their handling of the death of his friend PAC.
Amore first gained fame in WWE as one-half of the tag team Enzo & Cass, known for his high-energy promos and catchphrases like "How you doin'?" and "You can't teach that."
He later won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in 2017, holding the title twice before being released in 2018 amid allegations of misconduct that were later dropped.

Since his departure, Amore has wrestled sporadically on the independent circuit and made appearances for other promotions.
His potential return to WWE has been a topic of fan speculation for years, with many believing his mic skills and charisma would be a natural fit for the NXT brand.
The NXT brand has undergone significant changes in 2026, with several returning stars and new talent reshaping the roster.
Paige made a surprise return to NXT on November 4, competing for the NXT Women's Championship in her first NXT match since 2014.

That appearance was a last-minute call, as Paige revealed on Busted Open Radio that Triple H approached her during WWE's double television taping in Brooklyn.
Former NXT wrestler Brady Booker, who worked under the name Bodhi Hayward as a member of Chase U, was voted off "Survivor 51" this week in a 9-4 blindside.
Booker made headlines on the show for accidentally cutting off a quarter of his thumb with a machete, earning praise from host Jeff Probst for handling the injury with courage and humor.
As for Amore, no official announcement has been made by WWE regarding his status.
Fightful's report stressed that his visit was not confirmed as a signing, and it remains possible that he was simply visiting friends or scouting the facility.
But given the pattern of sightings and reports over the past year, the wrestling world will be watching closely to see if this visit leads to something more.
