Jason Kelce Shuts Down Jeff Stoutland Rumor in Fiery Rant

Ex-Eagles star Jason Kelce went off on a rumor that players wanted offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland out of Philadelphia.

Kelce called the report "crap" during his weekly appearance on 94WIP.

The rumor originated from Bill Colarulo of 97.5 The Fanatic.

Colarulo reported that it "wasn't only Nick Sirianni who wanted a change in the run game."

He said players also wanted a change.

Kelce did not hold back in his response.

"I would take anything you hear from an unnamed source with a giant grain of salt," Kelce said.

"Because ultimately that person isn't willing to stand behind it in front of a camera."

He argued that unnamed sources often have an agenda.

"Usually that unnamed source has some type of incentive or reason that they're putting this out to a media member, and it's usually to cover their own behind," Kelce added.

Stoutland left the Eagles in February 2026 after 13 seasons with the franchise.

He joined the team in 2013 under head coach Chip Kelly.

Stoutland worked under three head coaches in Philadelphia.

He helped the Eagles win two Super Bowls.

His offensive line featured future Hall of Famers like Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson.

Kelce played 11 seasons under Stoutland's coaching.

The 2026 season saw internal friction build between Stoutland and the coaching staff.

Head coach Nick Sirianni removed Stoutland's run-game coordinator title.

The Eagles' offense struggled throughout the 2026 season.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo's system did not work well.

The Eagles parted ways with Patullo after the season.

Stoutland also walked out the door.

Kelce said the reason Stoutland left had nothing to do with the players.

"I take great offense to somebody alluding to players not fighting really hard for Jeff," Kelce said.

"That one very much upset me because the reason to move on from Jeff Stoutland had nothing to do with the players."

He said the decision came from the organization.

"Had to do with the building wanting to go in a different direction," Kelce said.

"That's fine, but don't give me this crap like trying to defer direction on the decisions you guys wanted to make."

Kelce pointed to evidence that players respected Stoutland deeply.

When Stoutland left, left tackle Jordan Mailata and his wife went to his house for dinner.

They honored the coach who helped develop him into a star.

When Lane Johnson retired, he only met with one coach.

That coach was Jeff Stoutland.

Kelce said these actions show the truth.

"I don't know the way the last season went because I wasn't there," Kelce admitted.

"I know it wasn't great."

But he was certain about one thing.

"The reason to move on from Jeff Stoutland had nothing to do with the players," he repeated.

Kelce also criticized the culture of anonymous leaks.

"There's one thing that always frustrates me when the season is starting to divulge into what this one has so far, and that's like the leaks coming out in the unnamed sources," he said.

"It really bothers me."

He urged fans to be skeptical of reports without named sources.

"I would take anything you hear from an unnamed source with a giant grain of salt," Kelce said.

Stoutland's departure marked the end of an era for the Eagles.

He was one of the most respected offensive line coaches in the NFL.

His work with Kelce, Johnson, and Mailata built a legendary unit.

The offensive line was a cornerstone of Philadelphia's success.

Kelce retired after the 2023 season.

He has since moved into media and broadcasting.

He hosts a weekly radio show on 94WIP.

He also hosted PBS's "Salute to Service 2026" for Veterans Day.

The special featured musician Jon Batiste and the U.S. Army Field Band.

But on Thursday morning, Kelce's focus was on defending his former coach.

He did not mince words.

He did not leave room for doubt.
