NFL Legend Blasts Belichick Over Hypocrisy in Hudson Split

An NFL legend has publicly blasted Bill Belichick over what he calls a hypocritical stance in the wake of the coach's reported split from Jordan Hudson.
The criticism came during a live broadcast, where the former player did not hold back.
He said Belichick's comments about the breakup — and his handling of the situation — were so contradictory that they defied logic.
"You got to be on some type of drugs to say that," the legend said on air.
The remark was directed at Belichick's response when a reporter asked about the breakup during a press conference on Nov. 2, 2026.
Belichick, 74, was asked by Brian Murphy of WRAL if he had "any comment" on the split reports and what the breakup "might mean" for UNC's football program.
The future Hall of Famer replied, "Do you work for a tabloid now?"
He paused before adding, "I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you."

The NFL legend saw that exchange and called it out as hypocritical.
His argument: Belichick has spent 24 seasons with the New England Patriots building a reputation for keeping distractions out of his football operation.
Yet, according to multiple reports, Hudson has remained involved in Belichick's professional life even after their romantic relationship ended.
A source told Page Six that Belichick's family welcomed the end of the romance but remain uncertain about Hudson's professional responsibilities.
"There's definitely a sense of relief now that Bill and Jordan have split, but the family's concerns haven't completely gone away," the source said.
The insider claimed the couple's 49-year age difference was never the family's primary objection.
Instead, relatives reportedly became uncomfortable with Hudson's involvement in Belichick's business dealings, including communications and management decisions.
What they want to know now, according to the report, is how much of that arrangement remains in place.

The source emphasized that the family isn't accusing Hudson of wrongdoing.
Rather, relatives reportedly don't have a clear picture of her responsibilities or how much authority Belichick has given her.
That leaves an unusual situation: A relationship that has reportedly ended romantically, but whose professional boundaries remain a source of questions.
Hudson, 25, and Belichick reportedly split late last year, according to TMZ.
Despite the breakup, the two continued making public appearances together throughout 2026.
The outlet reported that they remain friends and maintain business ties.
Those ties are now at the center of the controversy.
Hudson attended the UNC Tar Heels' game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, Oct. 31 — one day after her split from Belichick was confirmed.

She has been a regular fixture on the sidelines at UNC games this season.
Last month, Hudson and Belichick shared a big hug after he coached the Tar Heels to a 24-20 win over the Duke Blue Devils on Oct. 17.
She also watched UNC's 37-26 home loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Oct. 3.
Belichick has also shown his support for Hudson, attending her cheerleading competition in April.
When Hudson's Code Black team won the championship, the two posed for a selfie, with Hudson jokingly calling Belichick "Bill the WAG" in her Instagram caption on April 26.
Days later, on May 2, the pair attended the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, where they coordinated black ensembles and posed for photos on the red carpet.
Belichick and Hudson began dating in early 2023, following his split from Linda Holliday, his girlfriend of 16 years.
The pair reportedly first met in February 2021, when Hudson, a former Bridgewater State University cheerleader, was still in college.

Now, with Belichick leading the University of North Carolina football program, the scrutiny has intensified.
The Tar Heels are 7-point favorites at UConn this Saturday.
They will probably be an underdog against Louisville next week, then slight favorites for their trip to Virginia and home contest against NC State.
Among UNC's four remaining opponents, there is neither a certain victory nor an assumed defeat.
This is where perception can matter more than reality.
The NFL legend's comments add another layer of pressure.
Belichick has already pushed back on questions about Hudson's influence.
When asked about the breakup during the press conference, he deflected.

But the legend's rip suggests that Belichick's attempt to keep his personal life private is being met with skepticism from within the football community.
The criticism centers on the perceived contradiction between Belichick's public stance and his private actions.
For decades, Belichick was known for maintaining strict control over the Patriots' locker room and media access.
He often dismissed questions about his personal life as irrelevant to football.
Now, with Hudson still appearing at games and reportedly involved in his business affairs, the NFL legend argues that Belichick cannot have it both ways.
The question hanging over the program: How much of Hudson's role remains, and how will it affect UNC's season?
Belichick's family reportedly wants clarity on that question.
The NFL legend's outburst suggests that others in the football world are watching closely as well.
The Tar Heels' next four games will define Belichick's second year at UNC.
Whether the off-field drama becomes a distraction remains to be seen.
For now, the legend's words hang in the air: "You got to be on some type of drugs."
