Sarah Ferguson Rebuilds Her Life After UK Return—Where She Stands With Andrew

Sarah Ferguson is back in the UK and in the process of “rebuilding” her life — but her ongoing connection to ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continues to draw scrutiny.
She left the UK in February and spent six months in Austria and Switzerland.
She returned to her home country in August.
Ferguson is currently renting a six-bedroom property in the Home Counties.
A spokesperson told Hello! magazine: “At the moment she is focused on the now and has no big plans at this stage other than health, family, and rebuilding her life in a new home.”
According to The Sun, the rental costs about $13,500 per month.
The property has three bathrooms.
Ferguson is “relocating and quietly sorting through 40 years of boxes,” her spokesperson added.
Despite rumors that she is writing a tell-all memoir, those claims have been strongly denied.

WHAT ABOUT ANDREW?
Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — formerly known as Prince Andrew — divorced in 1996.
Despite the divorce, they lived together at the 30-room mansion Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate until February of this year.
They were evicted amid the ongoing scandal surrounding their association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
After the eviction, Andrew moved to the Sandringham estate.
On February 19 — his 66th birthday — he was arrested from his new home at Marsh Farm.
In October 2025, King Charles stripped his younger brother of all royal titles and privileges, rendering him a commoner.
Ferguson and Andrew had their respective Duke and Duchess of York titles stripped at the same time.
Despite all of this, the former couple remain in contact.

Ferguson’s spokesperson told Hello! exclusively: “Sarah and Andrew speak regularly and have always had and continue to have unity as co-parents and co-grandparents.”
The spokesperson declined to answer when asked if Ferguson had met up with Andrew face-to-face since returning to the UK.
They share five grandchildren together.
Princess Beatrice, 38, has daughters Sienna, 5, and Athena, 21 months, with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Beatrice also helps co-parent her husband’s 10-year-old son Wolfie from his previous relationship with Dara Huang.
Princess Eugenie, 36, has three children with husband Jack Brooksbank: sons August, 5, and Ernest, 3, and daughter Adelaide, 3 months.
Adelaide was born in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 3.
FERGIE’S FIRST PUBLIC RETURN
On October 29, Ferguson made her first public appearance in the UK in over a year.

She attended a memorial service for her ex-boyfriend Paddy McNally in London.
Her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were with her, along with their husbands.
A source told Examiner: “Sarah went back and forth over whether she was going to attend. Of course she was nervous, but she decided to face her fears and get back out there and she’s so relieved that she did.”
The source added: “She was schmoozing with everyone like old times.”
According to the same source, King Charles III and Prince William “are quite shocked by the warm welcome she got. That was not something they anticipated.”
Ferguson had largely disappeared from public view after her close ties to Jeffrey Epstein came under intense scrutiny.
She denies any wrongdoing and has consistently maintained her innocence.
She previously stated via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies.”
The royals “want distance from the scandal and that’s just not going to happen if Sarah starts popping up at every society event,” the source noted.

Charles, 77, and William, 44, “may not have much of a choice,” the source added.
“She’s done hiding,” the source declared.
“She’s ready to get back to the life she’s always known.”
Royal commentator Phil Dampier told The Royal Observer that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been visiting their mother at her new home.
“Friends tell me they have both been to see her at her new house in the past couple of weeks,” Dampier said.
“I don’t think they want to be seen with her in public at the moment, and she probably realizes it’s not a good idea either, but behind the scenes they are talking and trying to be supportive.”
Dampier noted that the York sisters are “embarrassed” and “reevaluating their lives and contacts to avoid scandal.”
WHAT COMES NEXT
Ferguson’s spokesperson told People: “She’s resettling here, lying low while she looks at the next stage. She’s happy spending time with her family and focusing on her relocation. She is embracing her family life and seeing her grandchildren.”
The spokesperson added that Ferguson maintains an “ongoing cordial and supportive relationship” with Andrew “as co-parents and co-grandparents.”
For now, Ferguson appears to be keeping a low profile while she settles into her new home.
But her first public appearance suggests she may be preparing to re-enter society more broadly.
Whether the palace will attempt to distance itself from her — and whether her continued contact with Andrew will create further complications — remains to be seen.
