Travis Kelce Gushes Over First Married Holiday With Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is ready for his first Christmas as a married man — and he’s not hiding his excitement.
In a new interview with WWD, the Kansas City Chiefs star opened up about the holiday season ahead with his wife, Taylor Swift.
“I’m excited for my first holiday as a married man,” Kelce told the outlet while promoting his campaign with Tommy Hilfiger.
“I love all the old traditions and can’t wait to start some new ones,” he added.
Kelce also gave a glimpse into when his holiday spirit kicks in.
“I start celebrating as that tree goes up,” he said.
The couple tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden this past July.
Since then, both have been juggling demanding schedules.
Kelce is back on the field for another NFL season with the Chiefs.
Swift, meanwhile, has been promoting her new song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which appears in the soundtrack for “Toy Story 5.”

The song is widely expected to receive an Oscar nomination when nominations are announced in January.
Swift recently gave fans a look into their married life during a Q&A for the movie in New York City.
She revealed that she and her best friend Abigail Anderson still speak in “Napoleon Dynamite” voices — and that their husbands have to “put up with” it.
“And we still do this — and it’s something our husbands have to put up with,” Swift said during the event, before impersonating the iconic character played by Jon Heder.
The lighthearted moment offered a rare glimpse of the couple’s private dynamic.
But the holiday cheer comes at a complicated moment for Swift.
Reports have surfaced that the singer is feeling “genuinely anxious” amid a wave of backlash.
The criticism centers on two main fronts.
First, Swift has faced public pressure over her silence on the 2026 midterm elections.
Fellow pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Ariana Grande have been vocal about urging fans to vote, which has drawn comparisons to Swift’s lack of public statements.

Second, some critics have accused Swift of exhibiting “politician-like behavior” in her awards campaign strategy.
The accusations have been widely reported by outlets including Yahoo, Thought Catalog, and AOL.com.
Neither Swift nor her representatives have publicly addressed the backlash.
Meanwhile, the Kelce family has been adjusting to life in the spotlight since Swift joined the fold in 2023.
Kylie Kelce, who is married to Travis’s brother Jason, opened up about the experience on her podcast “Not Gonna Lie” earlier this week.
Kylie, 34, shares four daughters with Jason: Wyatt, 7; Elliotte, 5; Bennett, 3; and Finnley, 1.
She told guest Joanna Gaines that she wants her children to “experience the world” like any other kid despite their famous aunt.
“Our kids are young, and obviously there are situations we can’t control, like being out in public and whatever,” Kylie explained.
“I always say, like, we’re not gonna hole up in our house and keep our kids hidden,” she said. “We’re not hermits.”
But she admitted that her children have already faced awkward encounters with overzealous fans.

“It’s interesting to try and navigate those moments with kids,” Kylie said.
“I think people sort of lose sight and their excitement overrides social etiquette or proper social behavior,” she explained.
“And their excitement is like, ‘Oh, my gosh, that’s whoever,’ and it’s like, whoever is 5 years old.”
Kylie said she has already started preparing her daughters for potentially uncomfortable interactions.
“Every single time we get out of the car when we’re going somewhere, I’m like, ‘Just because someone knows mom’s name does not mean that mom knows them,’” she said.
“Just because someone might call you by your name, you might not know them,” she added.
“Those are the moments where I’m like, I have to prepare my 7, 5 and 3-year-old for adults that can’t get on the other side of an appropriate social interaction,” she concluded.
Swift has also been in the news for other reasons this week.
Actress Carrie Coon praised Swift’s impression of her “Gilded Age” character Bertha Russell during an appearance on “The Tonight Show.”
Swift had done the impression during her own visit to the show last year.

“She’s very good,” Coon said when host Jimmy Fallon played the clip.
“I didn’t see it that night [last year], and then I woke up to thousands of text messages and Instagram, being like, ‘Can you believe it?!’” Coon added.
“I have to say, it’s very good,” she said.
Coon also drew parallels between Swift and her character.
“It’s the right affectation,” Coon said of the impression.
“She’s so Bertha. I mean, she’s such an entrepreneur.”
“Bertha would be like Taylor Swift if she was living today,” Coon argued, before adding, “Well, maybe not the singing.”
Fallon asked Coon whether Swift should make a cameo on “The Gilded Age.”
“I think she should!” Coon replied.
She referenced Swift’s cameo at this year’s Emmy Awards, where Swift appeared in a sketch spoofing “Law & Order: SVU.”

“I saw her cameo at the Emmys when she was doing the ‘SVU’ send-up,” Coon said.
“She was really great. I feel like she’d be an excellent nemesis.”
As for the upcoming holiday season, the Kelce-Swift household appears to be preparing for a blend of old and new.
Travis mentioned he wants to honor family traditions while creating fresh ones with his new wife.
What those new traditions will look like remains private.
But with Swift’s busy awards season ahead and Kelce’s NFL schedule in full swing, finding time for quiet celebration may be a challenge in itself.
The couple has not publicly announced specific holiday plans beyond Kelce’s comments.
Swift’s “Toy Story 5” song continues to generate buzz as Oscar season approaches.
And Kelce will be focused on the Chiefs’ playoff push as December arrives.
Whether the public backlash Swift is facing will affect their holiday plans is unknown.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has addressed the controversy directly.
For now, Kelce’s message is one of simple joy: he’s looking forward to the tree going up, and to spending his first married Christmas with the woman he married this summer.
