Angel Reese Trolled Mid-Parade After Brutal WNBA Finals Loss

Angel Reese Trolled Mid-Parade After Brutal WNBA Finals Loss

The Reebok Angel Reese 1 “Draft Night” looks back at the moment her professional journey began.

Reebok confirmed the release for November 12, 2026, at a retail price of $130.

The sneaker will be available via Reebok.com and partnering retailers.

This colorway is named after the 2024 WNBA Draft, when Reese entered the evening in a sparkly hooded gown.

That night marked the start of a career that has since included a Vogue cover and a Victoria’s Secret runway walk.

The shoe uses charcoal grey across the synthetic side cage, midsole and rubber anchors.

Snowy white fills the spaces between, creating a profile described by Sneaker News as “equally wearable and refined.”

The release comes less than one week after the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals.

Reese averaged 14.7 points, 12.9 rebounds and three assists per game across the seven-game series, according to The Spun.

She earned All-WNBA, All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year honors for the 2026 season.

But the Finals loss has been followed by a wave of public trolling aimed at Reese.

During the Valkyries’ championship parade on Wednesday, former Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli held up a t-shirt depicting Reese doing her “too small” gesture from Game 3 of the Finals.

On the shirt, Reese’s face was replaced by the iconic Crying Jordan meme.

Video of the moment accumulated hundreds of thousands of views on X and TikTok.

Separately, flyers distributed at the parade featured the same meme with the caption: “If found, return to ATL.”

FirstSportz reported that the flyers were not official Valkyries merchandise but were created by fans.

Another fan posted a photo of a custom t-shirt with Reese’s hand making the “too small” gesture and the caption “Two Small Years” — a reference to the fact that the Valkyries won a championship within two years of existence while the Dream, founded in 2008, have not yet won one.

Valkyries players had also mocked Reese with the same “too small” taunt on social media after winning Game 7.

Despite the noise, Reese has publicly stated she intends to focus on the offseason.

She has pledged to put her podcast on hold and restrict her social media videos to vlogs while she trains for the 2027 season, according to The Spun.

The Dream are positioned to keep their core roster intact for several years, according to Sneaker News, and are expected to compete into the end of the decade.

The “Draft Night” sneaker does not reference any of the Finals drama directly.

Instead, it anchors itself to the moment before Reese had played a single professional game.

Sneaker News described the shoe as “looking back to where ATL Barbie’s journey began.”

The draft night gown itself was an early indication of the fashion tendencies Reese would later expand through her Vogue cover and Victoria’s Secret appearance.

Reebok has not issued any statement linking the release date to the Finals outcome.

But the proximity — the shoe drops on November 12, exactly one week after the parade — has drawn attention from fans and analysts.

Some have noted that the release allows Reese to control a narrative that has otherwise been shaped by opponents and fans during the parade.

The sneaker represents a commercial product, not a response to trolling.

But it arrives at a moment when Reese’s public image is being contested between her on-court achievements and the memes circulating online.

The WNBA Finals themselves were a seven-game battle.

The Valkyries became one of the fastest expansion teams in North American sports history to win a championship, according to Sneaker News.

Gabby Williams averaged just under 20 points per game during the series and accounted for 29 percent of all points scored by the Valkyries in the Finals, per The Spun.

Reese’s Game 3 “too small” taunt became a rallying cry for the Valkyries and their fans.

That same gesture is now printed on shirts and flyers at the championship parade.

And yet, on the same timeline, Reebok is releasing a shoe that looks back at a night when none of that had happened yet.

The “Draft Night” colorway is the latest in the Angel Reese 1 line.
