Belichick's ex attends UNC game despite split

Belichick's ex attends UNC game despite split

Bill Belichick’s ex-girlfriend Jordon Hudson reportedly attended the UNC-Miami game on Saturday, Oct. 31, according to People magazine — just one day after news of their split broke.

That appearance came despite a TMZ report on Friday, Oct. 30, that the couple had quietly ended their relationship “late last year.”

Hudson, a former college cheerleader, was seen at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill as the Tar Heels lost 38-35 to the Hurricanes.

Her presence did not help Belichick’s team pull off a win, but it did raise questions about whether the breakup report was accurate — or whether the two are still in contact.

Neither Belichick nor Hudson has confirmed the breakup.

A UNC staffer told USA Today they were not made aware of any split.

Another staffer publicly stated they were caught off guard by the news.

The couple had continued to give the public the impression they were still together.

They were photographed holding hands at the Kentucky Derby in May.

They made many other public appearances together throughout 2025.

Belichick, 74, was asked about his relationship with Hudson during a press conference on Monday, Nov. 2.

He fired back with a dismissive response instead of addressing the breakup rumors.

“I’ll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that’s alright with you,” Belichick said.

Hudson has made frequent appearances supporting the UNC football team since she began dating Belichick.

She was photographed hugging him on the sideline following North Carolina’s Oct. 17 win over Duke.

Her latest appearance at the Miami game does not necessarily mean the couple is back together.

But it does suggest she remains connected to the program — or at least willing to show up.

The breakup report first surfaced via TMZ, which cited sources saying the relationship ended “late last year.”

That timing would mean the couple had been separated for months while still appearing together in public.

They were seen together at the Kentucky Derby in May.

They attended other events without any public hint of a split.

A UNC staffer told USA Today they had no knowledge of a breakup.

Another staffer said the news came as a surprise.

Belichick has not addressed the situation directly.

His Monday press conference response was the closest he has come to acknowledging the reports.

He did not deny them.

He did not confirm them.

He simply refused to discuss his personal life.

Hudson has not commented publicly on the breakup or her game attendance.

The UNC football program has not issued any statement about her presence.

The Tar Heels are now 6-3 on the season under Belichick’s first year as head coach.

Belichick took over the program in December 2024 after a legendary NFL career.

He won six Super Bowls as head coach of the New England Patriots.

He also won two Super Bowls as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.

He has eight total Super Bowl rings.

Despite that resume, Belichick was not voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2026.

That snub surprised much of the football world.

He is now one of five coaching finalists for the Class of 2027.

The other finalists are Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Dan Reeves and Mike Shanahan.

The Hall of Fame subcommittee will meet on Nov. 17 to decide on one candidate to present to the selection committee.

Meanwhile, the UNC football program has been under investigation for workplace culture and staff conduct.

The investigation began on July 30.

It was launched three days after UNC placed general manager Michael Lombardi on paid administrative leave.

Lombardi was one of Belichick’s first hires after he took over the Tar Heels.

He earned an annual salary of $1.5 million.

He resigned on Sept. 3.

Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick — Bill’s son — also left the program following the investigation.

The university has paid more than $914,000 to three outside law firms to conduct the investigation.

Barnes & Thornburg handled most of the work, charging more than $821,000.

Lead investigator Nate Huff spent nearly 200 hours on the case.
