Belmont Park Picks: Must-See Mother Goose & Dwyer Odds

Belmont Park Odds and Picks, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026: Mother Goose, Dwyer and Pumpkin Pie.
Belmont Park in Elmont, New York, runs a 10-race card on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, with first post at 11:40 a.m. ET.
Three stakes races anchor the afternoon: the Listed $175,000 Pumpkin Pie Stakes (Race 6, 2:10 p.m. ET), the Listed $200,000 Dwyer Stakes (Race 8, 3:12 p.m. ET), and the Grade 2 $300,000 Mother Goose Stakes (Race 9, 3:43 p.m. ET).
All three races are on dirt.
The Pumpkin Pie is a 7-furlong sprint for fillies and mares 3 years old and up.
The Dwyer is a 1-mile test for 3-year-olds.
The Mother Goose is a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies.
Television coverage is on America’s Day at the Races via the FOX Sports network, with the specific channel to be announced.
Bettors can wager through BUSR, which offers up to a $1,000 Welcome Bonus for new customers.
The Dwyer Stakes is the race drawing the most attention.
Ted Noffey, the 2025 champion 2-year-old, is expected to be the favorite.
The Into Mischief colt is trained by Todd Pletcher and will be ridden by John Velazquez from post 6.
Ted Noffey is undefeated and has not raced in over a year.
His official morning line odds have not yet been released, but the morning line is expected to be 8/5.
The Dwyer Stakes field also includes other 3-year-olds, with full entries subject to scratches and race-day changes.
One race later, the Mother Goose Stakes features Bodacious Bay as the horse to beat.
Bodacious Bay, trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. and ridden by Micah Husbands from post 7, won the Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes earlier this year.
She faces a field of 3-year-old fillies in the Grade 2 event.
The Mother Goose Stakes has a purse of $300,000.
The Pumpkin Pie Stakes, the first stakes of the day, offers a purse of $175,000.
Full official entries for all three stakes races were posted on Nov. 5, 2026.
Post times are staggered across the card: Pumpkin Pie at 2:10 p.m. ET, Dwyer at 3:12 p.m. ET, and Mother Goose at 3:43 p.m. ET.
All distances and conditions are set: Dwyer at 1 mile on dirt, Mother Goose at 1 1/16 miles on dirt, Pumpkin Pie at 7 furlongs on dirt.
The races are part of the fall meet at Belmont Park.
The New York Racing Association has also released the condition book for the upcoming winter meet at Belmont.

A separate story from the same weekend involves Woodbine-based trainer Dale Desruisseaux.
Desruisseaux will have a significant string of horses in New York this winter.
He is chasing his first U.S. stakes win with Highwaytothemoon in the $175,000 Carle Place, a 6-furlong inner turf sprint for sophomores at Belmont Park on Saturday.
Highwaytothemoon is a Ransom the Moon gelding owned by Domenic Dilalla.
The horse has outperformed expectations this year, beginning with a neck victory over elders in his seasonal debut at 5 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta at Woodbine in April.
He then ran second in the King Corrie in May and won the Queenston in June, both at Woodbine.
Desruisseaux told reporters, “We didn’t even have him eligible for the Triple Crown up here over the winter because I always thought he was a one-turn horse, but he took us on a ride.”
Highwaytothemoon stretched to 9 furlongs to win the Plate Trial in July, then finished a troubled ninth in the 10-furlong King’s Plate in August.
He ran seventh in the Prince of Wales at 1 3/16 miles on dirt at Fort Erie.
Desruisseaux said, “I think he was that typical stereotype of a horse that you can get them to go long once. He showed us in the second leg that he didn’t want to go that far.”
He added, “He had a rough trip in the Plate. Turning for home, he got bounced around, and my jock said it took the air out of him. It didn’t give us a true feeling on the race, and that’s why we decided to go onto the next one. He had a good trip in the next leg and didn’t fire turning for home.”
Highwaytothemoon came back to run a closing second in the 6 1/2-furlong Sophomore at Woodbine on Oct. 10, 2026.
Jose Campos rode him in that race.
Highwaytothemoon saved ground in last of five after breaking from the inside post, while My Covenant led through a half-mile in 45.97 seconds.
My Covenant held on to win by one length in a final time of 1:16.03.
Desruisseaux said, “He was a little further back than I would have liked to see him last time, especially when…”
The quote was cut off in the source.
The Carle Place is a separate race from the three stakes on the main card.
Saturday’s card also includes a claiming race on Nov. 5, 2026, at Belmont Park.
Race 7 on Nov. 5 was a claiming race for 3-year-olds and up at 1 mile and 1 furlong on dirt, with 7 runners.
The winner earned $36,540.
No horse named in that race is entered in the Saturday stakes.
The key question for Saturday is whether Ted Noffey can deliver after a year away.
His return in the Dwyer Stakes will set the tone for the rest of the card.
Bodacious Bay’s performance in the Mother Goose will test whether her Grade 1 form holds at the Grade 2 level against a new group.

The Pumpkin Pie Stakes opens the stakes action with a competitive sprint field.
All three races are scheduled for dirt, with no rain in the forecast as of Nov. 5.
The betting public will have access to live odds and streaming through BUSR.
Full field lists, morning line odds, and post positions are available through the New York Racing Association.
The races will be run at Belmont Park’s main track, which is a 1 1/2-mile dirt oval.
Belmont Park is located in Elmont, New York, on Long Island.
The fall meet runs through late October and into November.
Saturday’s card is one of the last major racing days before the track shifts to its winter schedule.
The Dwyer Stakes has been run since 1918 and is named for a prominent New York racing family.
The Mother Goose Stakes dates back to 1953 and has been won by many champion fillies.
The Pumpkin Pie Stakes is a newer addition to the Belmont stakes calendar.
No official scratches had been announced as of Nov. 5.
Post positions and morning line odds for the Dwyer and Mother Goose were published on Nov. 5.
The Pumpkin Pie field was also finalized that day.
Bettors should check for race-day changes before placing wagers.
The racing surface is expected to be fast.
Temperatures in Elmont on Nov. 7 are forecast to be in the mid-50s with partly cloudy skies.
The wind is expected to be light.
All three stakes races are part of the broader New York racing circuit that leads into the winter meet at Aqueduct.
Saturday’s results will affect the standings for jockeys, trainers, and owners as the year winds down.
Ted Noffey’s return is the most anticipated single performance of the day.
If he wins, he will likely be pointed toward a 3-year-old championship campaign in 2027.
If he loses, the racing world will ask whether the layoff was too long.
Bodacious Bay is already a Grade 1 winner and could move into the top tier of the filly division with a win.
The Pumpkin Pie Stakes offers a spot for older fillies and mares to build their resumes before the winter.

The full 10-race card includes maiden, allowance, and claiming races in addition to the three stakes.
First post is 11:40 a.m. ET.
The last race is scheduled for approximately 5:20 p.m. ET.
Live streaming and wagering are available through BUSR and other ADW platforms.
America’s Day at the Races will cover the stakes races live on FOX Sports.
The New York Racing Association provides free past performances and race replays on its website.
Saturday’s card is expected to draw a large crowd to Belmont Park.
Parking and admission details are available on the NYRA website.
The track kitchen and dining facilities will be open.
Belmont Park is also home to the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown, run in June.
The fall meet is shorter and less formal than the spring and summer meets.
But the stakes quality on Saturday is high.
Ted Noffey’s return alone makes the Dwyer Stakes a must-watch race.
Bodacious Bay’s presence in the Mother Goose adds depth to the card.
The Pumpkin Pie Stakes provides a betting opportunity for sprint fans.
All three races are graded or listed, meaning they carry weight in the breeding and racing hierarchy.
The Dwyer is a listed stakes, the Mother Goose is a Grade 2, and the Pumpkin Pie is a listed stakes.
Purse money for the three races totals $675,000.
The Dwyer and Mother Goose are both restricted to 3-year-olds, while the Pumpkin Pie is open to older horses.
Saturday’s results will be posted immediately after each race on NYRA and US Racing.
Full charts and replays will be available by Sunday.
The racing season continues through December at Aqueduct.
Belmont Park will reopen for its spring meet in April 2027.
For now, all eyes are on Ted Noffey and Bodacious Bay.
The answer to whether they can deliver comes Saturday afternoon.
