Bill Belichick Furious at Reporters After Jordon Hudson Attends UNC Game Post-Split

Bill Belichick fired back at a reporter who asked about his breakup with Jordon Hudson during a North Carolina football press conference.
The UNC head coach asked the journalist if he worked for a tabloid.
"Do you work for a tabloid now?" Belichick said.
He paused before adding, "I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you."
The exchange happened on Monday, Nov. 2, 2026.
Brian Murphy of WRAL had asked Belichick if he had any comment on the split reports.
Murphy also asked what the breakup might mean for UNC's football program moving forward.
Belichick did not answer either question directly.
The question came two days after TMZ Sports first reported the breakup.
TMZ reported on Friday, Oct. 30, that Belichick and Hudson had quietly ended their romantic relationship late last year.
People.com confirmed the breakup and reported that Hudson has been seeing other people since the relationship ended.
Neither Belichick nor Hudson has publicly confirmed the split.
And here is where the story gets complicated.
Just one day after the breakup was revealed, Hudson attended Belichick's UNC game.
She was on the sidelines at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill on Saturday, Oct. 31.
Belichick coached the Tar Heels in a narrow 38-35 loss to the Miami Hurricanes.

People.com confirmed Hudson's presence at the game.
Hudson has been a regular fixture on the sidelines at UNC games this season.
She watched UNC's 37-26 home loss to Notre Dame on Oct. 3.
On Oct. 17, she and Belichick shared a big hug after he coached the Tar Heels to a 24-20 win over Duke.
A video of that hug was shared on Instagram.
Belichick has also shown support for Hudson in public.
He attended her cheerleading competition in April.
When Hudson's Code Black team won the championship, the two posed for a selfie.
Hudson jokingly called Belichick "Bill the WAG" in her Instagram caption on April 26.
On May 2, the pair attended the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.
They coordinated black ensembles and posed for photos on the red carpet.
The public appearances have made the breakup report hard to square with what people around the UNC program have seen.
USA TODAY Sports spoke with two people inside the UNC football office, including a high-ranking staff member.
Both said they were unaware of the reported breakup.
WRAL also reported that people close to Hudson denied that the relationship had ended.
"One source said Belichick attended a Hudson cheerleading competition in April," WRAL's Pat Welter reported.

"Another said they've spoken to her multiple times in 2026 and had no indication of a breakup."
Belichick's sharp response to the reporter drew immediate criticism from NFL legend Cam Newton.
Newton addressed the situation on his podcast on Nov. 4.
"Now, all of a sudden, you want to keep all your personal relationships to yourself," Newton said.
"She handles all business affairs outside of the University of North Carolina."
Newton pointed out that Belichick had not been private when the relationship was going well.
"You understand what I'm saying?" Newton said.
"You wasn't being private when you was getting caught on a Ring camera."
The Ring camera footage showed Belichick leaving a woman's home early in the morning in 2023.
The footage became a running joke during the 2024 Netflix roast of Tom Brady.
Brady made a pointed reference to the camera catching his former coach leaving at 6 a.m.
Snoop Dogg also got in a joke about Hudson's age during the February 2025 NFL Honors ceremony.
The couple was in attendance at that ceremony.
Newton also referenced a Halloween costume the pair wore.
"And for Halloween, you know what they were?" Newton said.
"One was a fisherman, and the other one was a mermaid."

"That's an oxymoron in this whole situation."
"You got to be on some type of drugs to not realize it."
Newton's point was that Belichick had been comfortable with public attention when the relationship was going well.
Now, with reports of a split circulating, he wanted the subject closed.
There is another layer to this story.
Page Six reported on Nov. 2 that Belichick's family is relieved the romantic relationship has ended.
But the relief has not settled all of their concerns.
Those remaining worries are about Hudson's business role, not the relationship.
"There's definitely a sense of relief now that Bill and Jordon have split, but the family's concerns haven't completely gone away," a source told Page Six.
"They understand she's still very involved in his business affairs," the insider said.
"They don't really know the full extent of her involvement, how much say she has or exactly what responsibilities Bill has given her."
Neither Belichick nor Hudson has confirmed the split.
People close to Hudson have denied it.
Belichick and Hudson began dating in early 2023.
That was following his split from Linda Holliday, his girlfriend of 16 years.
The pair reportedly first met in February 2021.

Hudson was still in college at Bridgewater State University at the time.
She was a cheerleader there.
Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, have a 49-year age difference.
That age gap has been a topic of public discussion and jokes.
Belichick spent decades as head coach of the New England Patriots.
He won six Super Bowls there.
He is now in his second season as head coach at the University of North Carolina.
His coaching philosophy has long emphasized focus and avoiding distractions.
Cam Newton played for Belichick briefly during the 2021 season.
Newton won the Heisman Trophy at Auburn in 2010.
He went on to an NFL career that included an MVP award and a Super Bowl appearance.
The question from Murphy during the press conference was about whether the breakup could affect the football program.
Belichick did not address that part of the question.
He instead challenged the reporter's professional role.
The exchange lasted only a few seconds.
But it has been replayed and discussed across sports media.

Was the reporter out of line for asking Bill Belichick about his relationship during a college football press conference?
That is the question fans are now debating.
Some argue that a coach's personal life is not relevant to a football press conference.
Others point out that Belichick himself brought public attention to the relationship.
He attended events with Hudson and appeared in photos with her.
He did not keep the relationship private when it was active.
The Ring camera footage was widely circulated.
Belichick did not deny or address that footage publicly at the time.
Now he is asking reporters to respect his privacy.
The situation remains unresolved.
Hudson continues to appear at UNC games.
She continues to be involved in Belichick's business affairs, according to reports.
Belichick's family reportedly has ongoing concerns about that involvement.
Neither Belichick nor Hudson has made a public statement confirming or denying the split.
The Tar Heels are on the road for their next game.
Belichick will hold another press conference later this week.
It remains to be seen whether reporters will ask about his personal life again.
