BKFC vows big names for Darren Till after Jake Paul fight falls through

After losing Jake Paul fight, BKFC promises ‘big names’ for Darren Till ‘very shortly’.
Darren Till will not be fighting Jake Paul on Christmas Eve.
Paul instead chose to face PFL welterweight Cedric Doumbe in a boxing match.
That decision left the former UFC title challenger without a December payday.
BKFC president David Feldman says he is not letting Till sit idle.
“We’re going to have some big names for Darren Till in the mix very, very shortly,” Feldman told MMA Fighting.
“One of them will be part of our announcement we’re going to make in the next couple weeks.”
Till has been keeping busy under the BKFC banner.
He has two fights and two wins in bare-knuckle boxing so far.
He initially signed a three-fight deal with the promotion.
Feldman promises longterm plans go far beyond one more bout.
“We have options,” Feldman said.
“I get along very, very well with him.

I get along very, very well with his management.
But there is a fight or two outside of BKFC that he would like that would be a really, really big payday for him.
That’s why we did it as an option.
But we do have options on his next few fights.
There is going to be a longer relationship with BKFC and Darren Till.”
The situation mirrors what happened with Mike Perry.
Feldman allowed Perry to book his own boxing match with Paul.
That obviously delayed Perry’s eventual return to BKFC.
Feldman says he supports fighters receiving great opportunities outside the organization.
Each case is handled individually.
Feldman sounded supportive if Till had landed the Paul fight in December.
But he also knows BKFC plans always have to come first.
“It comes to do we have something for Darren Till that makes sense?” Feldman said.

“Is the timing going to be right?
If we have to lay him off for eight, nine months, it’s only fair to let him go out and make a payday because the momentum’s going to be killed anyway if we don’t have a fight for him.
But if we have a fight that I think we’re going to have in the next two weeks to announce, then obviously he’s fighting for BKFC.
If we don’t then there is an option for him to possibly to fight a Jake Paul or something like that.”
Feldman believes Till could hang with Paul.
“I think that Darren Till can hang in there with Jake Paul, has a very good chance of beating him as well so I think it could raise his profile a lot and he has a chance to make a lot of money,” Feldman said.
“But at the same time, we’re not going to cut our nose off to spite our face here at BKFC.
If we have something that works for him, he’s going to do that first.”
Nothing is booked yet.
Feldman teased the possibility of going to a soccer stadium in Liverpool for Till’s next fight.
That would be a homecoming for the British slugger.
Paul is coming off a “chess match” against Yoel Romero at BKFC 94.
Romero is a former UFC title challenger who took Paul the distance.

Paul won that fight by decision.
The fight with Doumbe is set for Christmas Eve.
That leaves Till without an opponent for the holiday.
Feldman’s promise of big names suggests BKFC is prioritizing Till’s career.
The promotion wants to keep momentum alive.
If Till has to wait eight or nine months, Feldman said the momentum would be killed anyway.
So the goal is to find a fight that makes sense within the next two weeks.
If that happens, Till fights for BKFC.
If not, the option for Paul or another outside fight remains open.
Till has been vocal about other matters recently.
He blasted Daniel Cormier over alleged UFC commentary bias.
Till called Cormier a “company man” who does not say what he really thinks.
“It’s not that I don’t like him,” Till said.

“I just see right through his bulls---.
I wouldn’t say it to his face, mind you, because he’s a f------ animal of a fighter, but you can just see through his bulls---.
Any guy who’s got the second name ‘Magomedov,’ he’s just always biased.
He’s just a company man.
He doesn’t say what he should really say on his mind.
I can smell that bulls--- from over this corner of the world.
F--- off with your bulls---, mate.
I’ve got no time for that whatsoever.”
The comments came after Dominick Reyes called out Cormier’s commentary following UFC 333.
Reyes knocked out Azamat Murzakanov and gave Cormier an “F-plus” for his analysis.
Till had previously ripped Cormier in September for defending Usman Nurmagomedov’s cage jump at UFC Shanghai.
Cormier has heard criticism from others lately too.
Sean O’Malley and coach Tim Welch took issue with Cormier pushing for a Song Yadong title shot.

They later cleared the air.
For now, Till’s fighting future is the main story.
BKFC is promising announcements in the next couple weeks.
Till has two wins in the promotion and is looking for a third.
The canceled Paul fight opened a door for BKFC to step in.
Feldman is making it clear the promotion wants to keep Till active.
The question is who the big names will be.
Feldman did not name any specific opponents.
But he said one name will be part of an announcement soon.
That announcement could determine the direction of Till’s career.
If BKFC delivers a marquee opponent, Till stays in bare-knuckle.
If not, the Paul fight or another outside opportunity could resurface.
Feldman is balancing the promotion’s interests with Till’s desire for a big payday.
It is a delicate negotiation.
The clock is ticking.
Till’s momentum depends on the next move.
BKFC is betting on big names to keep him in the fold.
The next two weeks will reveal whether that bet pays off.
