Nicki Minaj Uses Chucky Memes for Political Views, Creator Fed Up

Nicki Minaj has been using AI-generated memes of the Chucky doll for months.
The rapper shared the images on X to push her political views.
On Election Day, she posted a Chucky doll wearing a pink outfit with a ‘Vote Red’ button.
Her caption read: ‘HAPPY ELECTION DAY!!!’
The post was meant to encourage her followers to vote Republican.
But the creator of Chucky was not amused.
Don Mancini, the filmmaker behind the Child’s Play franchise, responded quickly.
He called the Republican Chucky an ‘IMPOSTER.’
Then he posted a real photo of a Chucky doll holding another doll.
That second doll was Glen/Glenda — Chucky’s child, introduced in the 2004 film Seed of Chucky.
Glen/Glenda is a gender-fluid character who explores their identity across the franchise.
Mancini wrote: ‘Chucky has a trans kid.
Chucky protects the dolls.
Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE’ is coming, as BLUE as my f**kin’ eyes!’

The post made clear that the character would never support conservative politics.
Mancini’s response drew attention because of Chucky’s queer family history.
Gender identity and LGBTQ+ characters have been part of the Chucky universe for decades.
In a 2022 interview with Them, Mancini said queer material entered the series with Bride of Chucky.
He described deliberate efforts to expand that representation.
The television series explicitly revisited Glen/Glenda’s gender identity.
One scene showed Chucky saying he has ‘a queer kid.’
Later on Election Day, it became clear that Democrats had swept the nation.
Mancini returned to X with another message for Minaj.
He posted a picture of the same Chucky doll from earlier, this time with blue hair.
His caption read: ‘Too bad, Nicki!
No AI, by the way! #bluewave’
The comment about AI was a jab at Minaj’s use of AI-generated images.
Minaj did not respond directly to Mancini.

But she did issue a response after the Democratic wins.
She reminded followers that Donald Trump is still President.
She wrote: ‘stay tuned and stay MAD.’
The exchange puts a fictional horror character into the middle of a national debate.
Transgender rights remain the subject of presidential politics and federal policy.
The clash comes at a time when the issue is also the focus of extensive litigation.
Minaj has become an increasingly outspoken Trump ally in recent months.
She has used her platform to encourage support for Republicans.
The Chucky memes were part of a broader pattern of political posts.
Newsweek contacted representatives for Minaj for comment on the exchange.
At the time of reporting, there was no response.
But Minaj’s legal troubles may be a more pressing concern.
A law firm, Kurzman Eisenberg Corbin & Lever, has asked a judge for permission to stop representing her.
The firm represents Minaj and her company, Pink Friday Productions.

They are involved in a lawsuit filed by another company, 24/7 Productions.
That lawsuit accuses Minaj of failing to reimburse more than $200,000 in expenses.
The expenses were allegedly incurred in the production of her album Pink Friday 2.
In court documents, the attorneys cite ‘irreconcilable differences.’
They say there has been a major breakdown in communication with the singer.
The lawyers claim to have had difficulties notifying Minaj of their decision.
The request still has to be approved by a judge.
Until then, the firm officially remains Minaj’s legal representative.
This is not Minaj’s only legal front.
Another law firm, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, is seeking around $295,605 from Minaj.
That money is for legal services provided in a dispute over alleged copyright infringement.
The copyright case involves the song ‘I Lied.’
Minaj and her company Harajuku Barbie Music LLC are named in that claim.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has shown support for the singer at political events.

Trump has reportedly considered Minaj for the role of White House Press Secretary.
That rumor was reported by Yahoo.
Minaj’s political alignment with Trump has drawn criticism from many fans.
Some have called her allegiance problematic.
But Minaj has continued to use her platform to express her views.
The Chucky meme incident is the latest example of that.
Mancini’s response was notable for its specificity.
He did not just reject the meme — he explained why Chucky would never support the Right.
By invoking the character’s trans child, he made a pointed statement.
The post went viral, drawing reactions from both sides of the political divide.
For now, Minaj has not directly addressed Mancini’s rebuke.
But her ‘stay tuned and stay MAD’ post suggests she is not backing down.
The clash between a pop star and a horror franchise creator shows how politics has infiltrated every corner of American culture.
Even fictional characters are now claimed by political camps.
Mancini made clear that his character belongs to one side.
And he was not afraid to say so publicly.
The story continues to develop as both Minaj and Mancini post on social media.
What happens next remains to be seen.
