TKO Secures Backup US Host Cities And Full Payout If WrestleMania 43 Relocates

TKO COO Mark Shapiro revealed that WWE has already received half of its payment upfront from Saudi partners for WrestleMania 43 and will collect the remainder even if the event is forced to relocate to the United States.
The sports entertainment giant is taking every financial and logistical precaution as regional military tensions continue to raise questions about international events in the Middle East.
WrestleMania 43 is currently scheduled to take place in Riyadh in April 2027.
The historic event is set to mark the first time WWE stages its flagship extravaganza outside of North America.
Speaking to investors during TKO Group Holdings' third-quarter earnings call, Shapiro directly addressed concerns about the ambitious international broadcast.
The executive maintained that the overall likelihood of shifting the event away from the Saudi capital remains very small.
However, TKO leadership has already drafted extensive contingency plans should circumstances force their hand.
"As far as contingency goes, it’s a long list of cities, primarily in the US, that we would move a WrestleMania to."
Shapiro emphasized that while the location might change under extreme circumstances, the show itself faces no threat of outright cancellation.
FINANCIAL GUARANTEES IN PLACE
The business arrangement protecting WrestleMania 43 provides unprecedented security for TKO shareholders and WWE.
According to Shapiro, the promotional company has already collected a massive initial installment from its Middle Eastern hosts.
"I would just tell you it’s at no more risk than it ever was, given that the world is an unpredictable place, but we have already been paid half upfront and received the funds from our partners in Saudi," Shapiro stated.
The executive clarified the terms governing the remaining balance should global events force a venue change.

"If and when our event ever had to be moved because it would never be cancelled, we would certainly and definitely see payment on the other half."
"So come rain or shine, we’re getting the other half payment."
"So we’re sitting in a good place."
Industry reporting highlights the staggering monetary scale of the April 2027 showcase.
Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the overall deal for WrestleMania 43 is worth an estimated $150 million.
That lucrative valuation means TKO already has roughly $75 million in hand long before production trucks arrive in Riyadh.
The $150 million figure represents a massive surge compared to standard international pay-per-views held in the kingdom.
WWE typically commands a site fee of around $55 million for its regular Saudi premium live events.
That creates an immediate $20 million premium for the upfront deposit alone.
NO GATE RISK FOR TKO
TKO Chief Financial Officer Andrew Schleimer provided further clarity regarding how gate receipts and operational risks are handled under the contract.
Schleimer explained that live ticket sales belong entirely to the Saudi event organizers.
WWE receives a fixed flat fee for staging the spectacular.
Because the agreement relies on a guaranteed flat rate, WWE does not bear any financial exposure regarding venue attendance.

TKO collects its full fee regardless of how many spectators pass through the turnstiles.
This structure shields the publicly traded company from potential ticketing drop-offs caused by regional disruptions or local logistics.
BACKUP CITIES WAITING ON STANDBY
WrestleMania represents one of the most profitable tourist attractions in global entertainment.
Major metropolitan areas routinely enter competitive bidding wars to secure hosting rights years in advance.
Because of that perennial demand, several premier American destinations remain eager to accommodate the massive showcase on short notice.
Shapiro confirmed that multiple venues have been vetted as viable alternative sites if travel to Riyadh becomes unfeasible.
Having alternative venues on standby gives WWE operational flexibility without forfeiting the massive financial investment guaranteed by its overseas partners.
Executives are confident that an American stadium could absorb the flagship weekend if a relocation order is issued.
REGIONAL CONFLICT AND MINIMAL RISK
Investor focus on the Saudi calendar intensified following recent military exchanges between the United States and Iran.
The United States initiated strikes on Iranian targets on February 28.
Despite the ongoing conflict, TKO executives insist their live production schedule has not encountered logistical obstacles.
"The risk is extremely minimal," Shapiro told investors during the quarterly briefing.

"I think we’ve endured the tough climb thus far this year."
"We’ve had no events interrupted."
"We’ve staged all of our events in the Middle East flawlessly."
WWE successfully hosted its Night of Champions premium live event in Riyadh in June without reported incident.
Shapiro noted during the call that political rhetoric surrounding the conflict appears to be shifting toward de-escalation.
The COO referenced public statements from the Vice President indicating a desire to see military hostilities wrapped up.
Shapiro noted that political messaging can fluctuate wildly between escalations and peace initiatives.
Because geopolitical headlines change quickly, TKO intends to move forward alongside its partners as if all shows will proceed without incident.
OTHER SPORTING EVENTS DISRUPTED
While WWE maintains full confidence, other major global sports organizations have adjusted their Middle Eastern itineraries.
Three prominent athletic tournaments previously scheduled in Saudi Arabia have experienced disruption.
Organizers were forced to postpone the high-profile FIFAe Finals 2026.
The lucrative Six Kings Slam tennis exhibition also saw its scheduled dates suspended.
Additionally, the 2027 AFC Asian Cup football tournament has been officially pushed back to December 2027.

International airlines have also dealt with notable flight adjustments and travel disruptions across regional airspace.
Despite those surrounding headwinds, TKO leadership has chosen to maintain every upcoming fixture on its operational calendar.
CROWN JEWEL PROCEEDS IN RIYADH
The immediate test of WWE’s Middle Eastern operations arrives this Saturday with Crown Jewel.
Saturday's showcase marks WWE’s third and final premium live event in Saudi Arabia this year.
The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Riyadh Season Stadium.
Event officials later shifted the location to The Venue, an indoor facility also known as ANB Arena in the Saudi capital.
The arena change represents an adjustment within Riyadh itself rather than an evacuation from the country.
WWE personnel are already preparing for Saturday's broadcast under standard international travel protocols.
TALENT COMMITTED TO CROWN JEWEL
Wrestling observer reporting indicates that WWE performers have expressed no resistance to making the overseas flight.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that no WWE superstars have refused to travel for the show.
Meltzer noted that company executives have not actively encouraged performers to opt out of the trip.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is booked for a featured Last Man Standing match against veteran rival Randy Orton.

World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is also scheduled to perform in a massive champion-versus-champion match against Sami Zayn.
WWE’s biggest box-office attractions are moving forward as planned despite online chatter regarding security precautions.
EXPANDING COMBAT SPORTS FOOTPRINT
WWE is not the only TKO property maintaining an active presence in the Persian Gulf this season.
Shapiro reminded investors that sister promotion UFC also has significant dates booked in the territory over the coming weeks.
The mixed martial arts organization will host a UFC Fight Night card in Doha on November 21.
UFC will then travel directly to Riyadh for another major fight card in early December.
With Crown Jewel, Doha, and Riyadh on tap, TKO will stage three major live arena productions in the region before the year concludes.
LOOKING TOWARD 2027
For wrestling fans, WrestleMania 43 represents a groundbreaking milestone in the history of professional wrestling.
Taking the biggest pop-culture spectacle in combat sports outside North America signals a bold new era for WWE.
Yet the unpredictable nature of world events means domestic stadiums will remain waiting in the wings.
TKO has guaranteed its revenue through airtight contractual terms.
Now, the sports world must wait to see where the grandest stage of them all truly lands in the spring of 2027.
Would you prefer to see WrestleMania 43 remain in Saudi Arabia as planned, or should WWE move it to a US stadium?
