Tom Brady Shuts Down Mahomes and Reid Over Super Bowl Knee Flinch

Inés Gómez Mont, the Mexican TV reporter who famously proposed to Tom Brady at Super Bowl XLII media day in a wedding dress, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Miami on Friday, October 30.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the arrest.
Gómez Mont, 43, now faces three arrest warrants issued by Mexican authorities.
The charges include organized crime, money laundering, and suspected tax fraud.
Investigators believe Gómez Mont and her husband, Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga, were central figures in a scheme involving roughly $160 million in government contracts.

Those contracts were meant to protect Mexico's federal prisons.
Mexican Attorney General Ernestina Godoy Ramos issued a statement on Monday, November 2.
"These are serious offenses," Godoy Ramos said.
"The scheme under investigation revolved around contracts worth approximately ($160 million) with the agency responsible for federal prisons, funds earmarked for the security of the country's prison system."
Authorities allege the couple used fake companies, fraudulent contracts, and false invoices to move government money and hide its origins.

Álvarez Puga, reportedly known as the "King of the Invoice Mills," is accused of organizing the entire operation.
The couple fled Mexico for Miami in 2021 after a judge issued arrest warrants, according to media reports.
Both have denied the allegations.
Álvarez Puga was detained by ICE in September 2025 over immigration issues but was later released on bond.
DHS said Gómez Mont entered the United States legally in January 2021.

She overstayed her permission to remain.
Her arrest comes nearly two decades after an unforgettable encounter with Tom Brady.
On January 29, 2008, Gómez Mont attended Super Bowl XLII media day wearing a wedding dress and veil.
As reporters surrounded the Patriots quarterback, she shouted, "I'm in love with you! Will you marry me, please?"
Brady, then dating future wife Gisele Bündchen, laughed it off.

"I'm a one-woman man," he replied.
The moment became one of the most replayed Super Bowl media day clips in history.
Gómez Mont remains in ICE custody pending immigration proceedings.
Mexican prosecutors plan to execute the warrants if she returns to Mexico.
The case raises questions about how the couple managed to live in Miami for over four years while under active investigation.

Federal authorities have not disclosed how long they had been tracking Gómez Mont before the arrest.
Her husband remains out on bond from his September 2025 immigration detention.
The $160 million figure represents one of the larger prison contract fraud schemes to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in recent years.
Mexico's Attorney General's office has said it will pursue extradition if Gómez Mont is released from ICE custody.
For now, she sits in a federal detention center, waiting for immigration proceedings that could determine whether she faces trial in Mexico or remains in the United States.
The wedding dress proposal that once made her a footnote in Super Bowl lore now reads as a strange prologue to a much darker story.
