Travis Kelce Hints at First Holiday Season as a "Married Man

Travis Kelce is ready to leave the Christmas lights up until at least January.
This is his and Taylor Swift’s place, and they’re making the rules as they head into the holiday season hot off the heels of their July nuptials.
“I’m excited for my first holiday as a married man,” Kelce told WWD on November 5 while in conversation about his new campaign with Tommy Hilfiger.
“I love all the old traditions and can’t wait to start some new ones.”
And as soon as the Christmas lights start to glisten, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will be simply having a wonderful Christmastime.
As he put it, “I start celebrating as that tree goes up.”
But that begs the question, did he ever stop celebrating since he said, “I do,” in New York City?
After all, the 37-year-old previously called his and Swift’s wedding “the best night of my life.”

“Marrying Taylor was more than I could have ever dreamed it to be,” he added during his September conversation with ESPN’s Chris Berman, “because of all the people that showed up, and the amount of, you know, love that was in the air.”
In fact, Kelce and Swift had to make their way through a crowd of nearly 1,000 well-wishers who descended on New York’s Madison Square Garden to witness the next chapter in the pair’s love story.
“Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up,” Kelce said during the September 2 episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason Kelce.
“From the vows to the seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that being relayed through everyone’s stories of that night—it was just so magical man, I wish it could have lasted longer than it did.”
For the Kansas City Chiefs player, one of the most particularly enchanting aspects of the evening was seeing all their loved ones from the furthest corners of their lives come together.
“It was so cool to see everyone from my childhood not only mesh with Taylor, but [the people] from her childhood and her family and friends,” he explained, “and people that she works with to people that we’ve encountered over the course of our career and who we just admire as people and have become good friends with now.”
The couple has only given spare details about their July 3 ceremony in Madison Square Garden, but Swift did allude to her marriage in one of her newest songs.
Last year, the pair celebrated the holiday season as an engaged couple.

According to sources who spoke to Us Weekly, it was a very “low-key, family-centric” affair.
“Travis fits right in with her family, and Taylor adores [his mom] Donna,” an inside source told Us Weekly.
“They talk all the time.”
“They make sure to see both sides as often as they can. They are super family-oriented, and they have always loved that about one another.”
Since the wedding, the pair have celebrated a few other milestones as a married couple.
In October, they celebrated Kelce’s 37th birthday at a party where Swift wore a black lace-trimmed Simkhai midi dress.
The pair have also welcomed a new dog named Wendy into their family.
Kelce’s interview with WWD was part of a festive campaign with Tommy Hilfiger, where he also teased how the couple is planning to mix and match their holiday traditions for the first time.

“I love all the old traditions and can’t wait to start some new ones,” he said, adding, “I start celebrating as that tree goes up.”
The tight end’s comments come as fans eagerly watch how the couple navigates their first Christmas as husband and wife.
With Swift’s Eras Tour on a break and the Chiefs in the thick of their NFL season, the pair will need to balance work commitments with family time.
Kelce’s schedule includes Sunday games through early January, while Swift has no public tour dates currently announced for December.
That window could allow for an extended holiday celebration.
The couple’s families are spread across multiple states — Swift’s parents are based in Pennsylvania and Tennessee, while Kelce’s mother Donna lives in Ohio and his brother Jason is in Pennsylvania.
Friends have said the couple is committed to seeing both sides as often as possible.
The wedding itself was a closely guarded secret until the day it happened.

On July 3, Kelce and Swift exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden in front of a crowd of nearly 1,000 guests.
The venue was chosen, according to sources, because of its significance to both their careers — Swift has performed there multiple times, and Kelce’s Chiefs have played at the arena.
The couple reportedly spent months planning the event, which included a reception that lasted into the early morning hours.
Kelce has described the evening as “magical” and said he wished it could have lasted longer.
Swift has not publicly commented on the wedding details, but her songwriting has offered glimpses into their relationship.
On her most recent album, she included a track that fans have interpreted as referencing her marriage.
The couple began dating in the summer of 2023, when Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows in Kansas City.
Their relationship quickly became public, with Swift appearing at multiple Chiefs games throughout the 2023 NFL season.

By early 2024, they were regularly photographed together, and rumors of an engagement began circulating.
Kelce proposed in May 2024, sources confirmed, and the couple set a July wedding date.
The ceremony was held on a Wednesday to avoid conflicts with the Chiefs’ training camp schedule.
Since then, the couple has settled into married life, splitting time between Kelce’s home in Kansas City and Swift’s properties in New York and Los Angeles.
They have also traveled together during Swift’s tour breaks, including a trip to Italy in August.
As the holiday season approaches, fans are watching for any signs of how the couple will celebrate.
Kelce’s comments suggest a blend of tradition and innovation — keeping the old while making room for the new.
“I love all the old traditions and can’t wait to start some new ones,” he said.
What those new traditions might include remains to be seen.
But if Kelce’s enthusiasm is any indication, the couple is approaching the season with joy and excitement.
“I’m excited for my first holiday as a married man,” he said.
For now, the Christmas lights are going up — and the celebrations are beginning.
