Thomas Markle’s son is now a person of interest in a child abuse probe.

Thomas Markle Sr. received a visit from his daughter Samantha Markle for what sources described as long 'crisis talks' at his care home in Florida on Wednesday.

Meghan Markle's half-sister, 61, arrived for the meeting as new developments emerged in the ongoing FBI and international child abuse investigation involving the 82-year-old former lighting director.

Sources told The Sun that the meeting lasted an unusually long time, suggesting the pair had significant matters to discuss.

'It was very odd.

She was there for an unusually long time — they had a lot to discuss,' one source said.

'Since the meeting she's stopped speaking about the allegations on social media.

Someone clearly has told her to stay quiet.'

Samantha Markle had previously been a vocal critic of Meghan on various platforms, frequently posting about the Duchess of Sussex and her estrangement from their father.

Her sudden silence has raised questions about what was discussed behind closed doors.

The meeting comes as police in the Philippines announced they are 'very close' to bringing formal charges against Thomas Markle Sr.

The investigation was triggered by a tip-off from his son, Thomas Markle Jr., who serves as his father's full-time carer.

Thomas Markle Jr. submitted several legal affidavits to Filipino authorities, handing over materials he said he discovered in his father's former home in Cebu.

'I've been a long process but I'm determined to cooperate fully in the hope that justice will be done,' Thomas Markle Jr. said.

Philippine Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that Thomas Markle Jr. has now been named a person of interest in the investigation.

'To accuse the father only is only half the police work,' Remulla said, as reported by News5 Philippines.

'There are signs that point that the son is involved in the crime as well but only as a person of interest so far.'

Remulla stated that Thomas Markle Jr. is not yet being treated as a suspect.

According to Remulla, approximately 7,500 sensitive materials involving underage males and females were uncovered on devices found among Thomas Markle Sr.'s belongings.

'They presented it to me but I didn't want to look because I can't unsee it,' Remulla said.

'It is the most deplorable displays of impunity towards sexual activity that I have ever seen.

It's really, really disturbing.'

The FBI is now assisting the Philippine government in identifying the registration of devices, as six phones had originated from the United States.

US federal agents were alerted to two storage units in Los Angeles following a tip-off from Thomas Markle Jr.

Mexican authorities also launched a criminal investigation after child sex abuse images were found among Thomas Markle Sr.'s belongings, which appeared to date from when he was in his 40s or 50s.

The investigation spans three countries: the United States, Mexico, and the Philippines.

Thomas Markle Sr. has denied all allegations, calling his son's claims 'sick lies.'

'I'm shocked, I'm hurt and I'm very upset that my son is making these accusations against me,' he told the Daily Mail.

'I could never do what I'm being accused of.

It's the worst thing anyone could accuse me of.'

The Duchess of Sussex, 45, has described herself as 'deeply distressed' by the allegations.

Meghan Markle revealed that she had received a letter from the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection seven years ago.

The letter made 'troubling and disturbing allegations' about her father, but she was assured that they were being investigated.

Sources said the Duchess had wanted to 'speak out' immediately after reading the letter, but police advised her against this.

The Metropolitan Police has admitted it never shared the details with other law enforcement agencies.

The police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), is now investigating the force's conduct for failing to pass on the information.

Meghan has been estranged from her father since the run-up to her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

The estrangement began when Thomas Markle Sr. was caught staging paparazzi photographs and subsequently suffered a heart attack.

King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, stepped in to walk Meghan down the aisle at St George's Chapel in Windsor.

A spokesperson for the Duchess confirmed at the time that she had 'reached out to her father' but the relationship has remained fractured.

Meghan has kept Thomas Markle Sr. away from her and Prince Harry's two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

Prince Harry made his first UK appearance since the allegations became public, delivering a keynote address at the Wanderlust Travel Media Awards in London.

Speaking in his capacity as Travalyst founder, the Duke addressed attendees at the Old Royal Naval College.
