Tyson Fury’s injury may cancel the Anthony Joshua fight on Netflix

Time to panic?
Tyson Fury has ‘some injury’ which ‘may stop him’ from boxing Anthony Joshua on Netflix.
That is the claim from former WBC heavyweight champion Frank Bruno.
Bruno made the statement on the Fight Your Corner podcast with Tony Bellow.
“I looked at him the other day and I think someone was talking to me in the gym that he’s got some injury, which may stop him from going into the fight with Anthony Joshua,” Bruno said.
“And having that on your head ain’t nice.”
The fight is scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
It will be streamed live on Netflix.
Fury and Joshua are two of the biggest names in heavyweight boxing over the last decade.
Fury holds a record of 36-2-1 with 25 knockouts.
He ended his second retirement to stop Mariusz Wach in Thailand last July.
Joshua holds a record of 30-4 with 27 knockouts.
He bounced back from a car wreck to beat Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia a few months back.
The fight was first floated as a possibility back in 2016.
Many fans think it has come too late.
Fury is 38 years old.

Joshua is 37.
Fury’s camp has denied the injury claims.
A representative told Sky Sports News that the fight is set to go ahead as scheduled.
The fight is due to begin at around 1 a.m. on Saturday, December 12.
Principality Stadium will remain open until 3:30 a.m.
Last week, Fury said he intends to keep boxing after this fight.
“I’m going to continue,” Fury told WSVN Miami from his training camp.
“I’ve got two fights left on my contract. I’ll finish the contract off and then probably sign another 10-fight deal.”
“If the money’s right sign another 10 fights, but they’ve got to be quick because I’m getting older.”
“And when it’s gone it’s gone. I’m coming up to fight No 40.”
Derek Chisora, a longtime friend of Joshua, has been giving updates from Joshua’s camp.
Chisora told talkSPORT that he speaks to Joshua every Friday.
“I speak to him every Friday after his week of training camp,” Chisora said.
“I send him a message asking him how it was, and he said ‘yeah I’m killing it.’”
“So that is all I need to know, he’s killing it.”
Chisora lost three times to Fury.
He believes power is Joshua’s path to victory.
“AJ has to knock him out in the first six rounds,” Chisora said.
“After that it is a long night, but AJ has the power to knock out Tyson any round.”
“But has Tyson got that same power? No.”
“However, what Tyson will do is make the fight at a higher pace.”
“He has the endurance to sustain it for 12 rounds, and throw a higher volume of punches.”
Chisora, 42, was expected to retire after his April loss to Deontay Wilder.
Wilder is now set for the Fury vs. Joshua card against Jai Opetaia.
The fight will be for the WBA (Super) heavyweight title.
Frank Bruno’s claim has not been confirmed by any medical source.
No official statement has been released by Fury’s management team beyond the denial.
Bruno did not specify the nature of the injury.
He did not say how he received the information from the gym.
The timeline for a potential cancellation is unclear.
Netflix has not commented on the injury rumors.
Ticket sales for the event are already underway.

The Sun reported that official VIP hospitality tickets are available from £249.
Boxing News 24 reported that promoter Frank Warren has responded to the rumors.
The Manchester Evening News reported that injury rumors emerged ahead of the mega bout.
The Mirror reported that Mike Tyson has made an official prediction for the fight.
For now, the fight remains on the calendar.
Fury’s camp insists he is healthy and training.
Joshua’s camp says they are preparing as if the fight will happen.
The question is whether Bruno’s claim has any basis in fact.
If Fury is injured, the fight could be postponed or canceled.
If the fight is canceled, it would be a massive disappointment for fans.
It would also be a major financial blow for Netflix, which has invested heavily in the broadcast.
The fight has been years in the making.
Many thought it would never happen.
Now, just weeks before the bell, a new doubt has been raised.
Time will tell if Bruno’s warning was genuine concern or just noise.
Either way, the boxing world is watching closely.
