Tyson Fury’s mystery injury may cancel the Anthony Joshua fight.

Time to panic? Tyson Fury has ‘some injury’ which ‘may stop him’ from boxing Anthony Joshua on Netflix.

That is the question now hanging over the biggest heavyweight fight in years.

Fury and Joshua are scheduled to collide on Friday, December 11, 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The card is headlined by the two former champions and streamed live on Netflix.

But former WBC heavyweight champion Frank Bruno has cast fresh doubt on whether the fight will happen.

Bruno told Tony Bellew on the Fight Your Corner podcast that he heard about an injury to Fury.

“I looked at him the other day, and I think someone was talking to me in the gym that he’s got some injury, which may stop him from going into the fight with Joshua,” Bruno said.

“And having that on your head ain’t nice.”

Bellew responded by suggesting Fury might be playing mind games.

“I do think Tyson Fury is the master of the mind games,” Bellew said.

“He’s going to be saying things. Yeah, he’s very, very good at it. Very, very good at the mind games.”

Bruno acknowledged Fury’s history of psychological tactics.

“I see him at the press conferences and he really says crazy things that get right under your skin,” Bruno said.

“Very controversial what he says, and no one’s ever going to agree with everything he says, but one thing that we can all agree on is he’s a world-class fighter. Yeah, he’s a brilliant boxer. Very, very good. I mean, it’s abnormal that he can move the way he moves at 20 stone.”

But the injury claim is separate from Fury’s usual pre-fight antics.

Bruno did not specify what the injury is, where it is, or how it happened.

He only said he heard about it from someone in a gym.

That lack of detail has left fans and analysts guessing.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, has not confirmed or denied the injury rumor.

Warren responded to the speculation without giving a clear answer.

Fury himself has not publicly addressed Bruno’s comments.

The timing is critical.

The fight is exactly one month away.

If Fury is genuinely injured and cannot train or fight, the entire event could be scrapped.

Netflix has already invested heavily in the broadcast.

The undercard includes a co-main event between Deontay Wilder and Jai Opetaia.

Dana White announced that fight on social media.

“The co-main event is officially set,” White said.

“These two guys have a combined 67 knockouts. You do not want to miss this fight, live only on Netflix.”

Opetaia is Australia’s undefeated cruiserweight world champion.

He is moving up to heavyweight to face Wilder.

Wilder, 41, held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015 to 2020.

His record is 45-4-1.

Fury and Wilder fought three times.

The first bout ended in a controversial draw.

Fury won the next two fights by dominant performances.

Wilder has since accused Fury of cheating in their first two fights.

Fury recently slammed Wilder over the Opetaia matchup.

Speaking to the FightHype YouTube channel, Fury said Wilder should not be in the ring.

“Silly really, for Deontay’s part,” Fury said.

“He shouldn’t be in a ring, he should be nowhere near a ring.

“It’s a dying shame that this man has to continue to fight when he’s shot to bits…

“Him and Chisora looked shockingly terrible.”

Now the tables have turned.

Instead of Fury criticizing Wilder’s fight, it is Fury’s own fight that is in doubt.

Fury ended his second retirement to stop Mariusz Wach last July in Thailand.

Joshua bounced back from a car wreck to beat Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia.

Both men are coming off tune-up fights.

Neither fight was against top-tier opposition.

The Fury-Joshua matchup has been attempted for years.

Promoters for both men tried repeatedly to make the fight.

Each time, negotiations collapsed.

Netflix’s involvement this year finally seemed to break the deadlock.

But there was already a brief period in September when the fight nearly fell apart.

That issue was resolved.
