Valkyries mock Angel Reese with her own gesture at parade

Festus Ezeli, a fan favorite from the Golden State Warriors' 2015 championship run, was spotted on a Valkyries parade float holding up a shirt that mocked Angel Reese.
The shirt featured an image of Reese doing her “too small” gesture from Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.
Her face on the shirt had been replaced with the crying Michael Jordan meme.
Ezeli spent four seasons with the Warriors and won a championship in 2015.
He has kept his ties to the Bay Area strong after his playing career, working as an analyst for NBC Sports Bay Area.
He has also been seen on occasion speaking with Valkyries guard Kate Martin.
The taunt was a direct callback to Game 3 of the Finals.

In that game, Reese directed the “too small” gesture toward the Valkyries’ bench, specifically at Golden State center Aminata Gueye.
She also appeared to call Gueye a “bum” after the 97-71 blowout win that gave Atlanta a 2-1 series lead.
Ten days later, the Valkyries won the championship on their home floor at the Chase Center.
They defeated the Dream in seven games.
Forward Gabby Williams led the way with a 30-point performance in Game 7, putting the finishing touches on Golden State’s first WNBA title.
Williams averaged 19 points per game on 32 percent shooting in the series.
Reese, who came to Atlanta through a blockbuster trade from Chicago, averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds on 40 percent from the field and 37 percent from three throughout the Finals.

She led the Dream in rebounding and was third in scoring.
The Valkyries’ WNBA title in their second season is the fastest expansion-team title in league history, beating the Storm’s fifth-year championship turnaround in 2004.
Ezeli is not the only NBA player who made his voice heard toward the WNBA All-Star.
Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg clapped back at Reese right after Game 7 at Chase Center, doing a similar gesture.
The shirt on the parade float was part of a larger theme of sending shots at the “Atlanta Barbie.”
It was described as the icing on the cake on a historic WNBA season.
Reese enjoyed a historic year despite the Finals loss.

She broke several league records, including most rebounds in a game and in a season.
She also set the record for most double-doubles in a single campaign.
She earned her third straight All-Star selection and her first Defensive Player of the Year award.
The Valkyries won the WNBA title in just their second season of existence.
That is the fastest any expansion team has won a championship in league history.
The previous record was held by the Seattle Storm, who won in their fifth season in 2004.
The Dream roster is expected to remain largely intact for the next few years.

Reese's own signature shoe, the Reebok Angel Reese 1 “Draft Night,” is set to release on November 12.
It is priced at $130 and will be available via Reebok.com and partnering retailers.
The shoe design nods to the sparkly hooded gown she wore on draft night.
That night marked the beginning of her pro career after her time at LSU.
Reese has since expanded her fashion presence with a Vogue cover and a Victoria's Secret runway walk.
The Valkyries parade taunt has become one of the most talked-about moments of the championship celebration.
It remains to be seen how Reese will respond when the 2027 season begins.
