Zac Affleck Breaks Silence After Mormon Wives Star Jen Files for Divorce While Pregnant

Zac Affleck has broken his silence after his wife, Jen Affleck, filed for divorce while pregnant with their fourth child.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star told People on Thursday, November 5, that he will “always be Jen’s supporter.”
“Hope she is happy in this next phase of life,” Zac said in his first public statement since the filing.
“Just focusing on my kids and figuring out what’s next for me.”
Jen, 27, filed a divorce petition in a Provo, Utah district court on Tuesday, November 3, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
The filing came two days before Zac’s statement.
Jen is currently eight months pregnant with the couple’s fourth child.
The pair are already parents to daughter Nora, 5, son Luca, 3, and daughter Penelope, 16 months.
Jen announced her fourth pregnancy in June 2026 with an Instagram post captioned “Chapter Four.”

The reason cited for the divorce filing is not yet known.
Court documents show that Jen also submitted a proposed parenting plan, but the details of her custody request are not publicly available.
Per Utah civil procedure, the court issued the couple a Notice of Required Classes.
Jen must attend divorce orientation and parenting classes within 60 days of the filing.
Zac has 30 days upon receipt of the notice.
Zac, 30, told People that he learned about the divorce filing from TMZ, not from Jen directly.
TMZ first reported the news on Wednesday, November 4.
Zac told the outlet that he hopes Jen is “happy in this next phase of life.”
He said he is “focusing on my kids and figuring out what’s next for me.”

The couple met in 2018 on the Mormon dating app Mutual.
They married the following year in 2019.
They have appeared on all five seasons of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered on Hulu in 2024.
The show documents the lives of a group of Mormon wives and mothers in Utah who are part of a social circle known as “MomTok.”
The Afflecks’ marital struggles have been a central storyline on the series.
In season one, the couple separated briefly after arguing about Jen’s role as the breadwinner and her influencer friend group, as well as Zac’s gambling in Las Vegas on the show.
During season two, they rebuilt their relationship while championing therapy.
They announced their pregnancy with Penelope in February 2025.
In 2025, Jen told Us Weekly that her marriage to Zac was “stronger than ever” after facing marital woes.

“Every single day we tell each other, we’re like, ‘If we can get through this, we can get through anything,’” Jen said.
Jen had recently returned to filming The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two at the time, following a brief hiatus to focus on her mental health.
She said returning to the show was important for her and Zac to “really just share our story” as a couple.
“I thought it was important to share a bit of the aftermath because that was kind of the reality of what was going on, and there was a lot that we were trying to navigate, but I also wanted to show that it’s just the reality of marriage sometimes,” Jen said.
“Sometimes you go through a rough patch, and for some people it’s the end and it ends with divorce, and for other people they fight through it and it ends up being a blessing in disguise.”
In August 2026, Jen told People that they were navigating difficulties “behind closed doors” while entering a new era as a family after moving to Orange County, California.
“It’s been a lot the past couple of months, I’ll be honest,” Jen said at the time.
“But I do feel like I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and just trying to count my blessings every single day.”
Around the same time, Jen shared on Instagram that she was experiencing prenatal depression.

She also underwent dental surgery during her pregnancy.
Jen praised Zac for getting her through the first trimester, telling People, “I could not be there for my kids, and so Zac really had to show up.”
She added, “He didn’t really have a choice.”
The couple is set to appear on the upcoming spinoff The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, which drops on November 12.
However, according to TMZ, Zac did not film any scenes for the spinoff.
Jen’s Mormon Wives costar Taylor Frankie Paul showed her support by commenting on a video shared by the series’ official Instagram account after news of the divorce filing broke.
“Everything aside, I will be,” Paul wrote, without finishing the sentence.
Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Zac and a representative for Jen for comment.
Neither party has released additional statements beyond Zac’s comments to People.
The divorce filing comes just one month after the season five drop of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in September.
Fans are now waiting to see how the storyline plays out on the Orange County spinoff.
The question remains: what led Jen to file while eight months pregnant, and what will happen next for the family of six?
