Years after successfully saving the entire planet from a highly weaponized falling satellite Xander Cage played by Vin Diesel has happily returned to his extreme roots. He spends his days broadcasting insanely dangerous stunts from the most remote and completely off the grid locations around the globe. However his peaceful vacation is abruptly interrupted when a highly coordinated international mercenary group known as The Apex enters the picture. This dangerous organization manages to hijack a massive fleet of experimental atmospheric control drones.
This global threat forces NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons played by Samuel L Jackson to track down Xander and pull him back into action. The leader of The Apex is a brilliant but completely unhinged former extreme athlete turned eco terrorist played by Jason Momoa. This new villain plans to artificially trigger massive natural disasters to wipe out all global superpowers and completely reset the current world order.
The government quickly realizes that traditional military tactics are completely useless against a villain who thrives in chaotic and unpredictable environments. Knowing what is at stake Xander must immediately reassemble his elite and thrill seeking team. Deepika Padukone makes a triumphant return as the highly lethal Serena Unger. She is joined by Donnie Yen playing the incredible martial arts master Xiang and Ruby Rose who returns as the deadly sharpshooting sniper Adele Wolff. Tony Jaa also joins the fray as a new gravity defying parkour expert who helps the crew navigate the treacherous and rapidly collapsing cities targeted by the villains. Together this unstoppable team must out skate out drive and out fight the ruthless mercenaries across a series of incredibly perilous landscapes all over the world.
The movie pushes the boundaries of extreme action to completely new heights. The incredible stunts include a mind blowing wingsuit flight directly through a category five hurricane in the city of Miami. Another insane sequence features an explosive zero gravity dirt bike chase happening entirely inside a hijacked cargo plane that is rapidly plummeting toward the freezing Swiss Alps. Stripped of any official government backup and operating entirely on pure adrenaline Xander and his loyal crew must pull off the ultimate sequence of death defying stunts. They must use every single skill they have to take down The Apex and prove once again that sometimes the absolute only way to save the world is to go completely off the rails.
