Raducanu’s Gym Videos Hint at Strong Injury Comeback

Emma Raducanu has given fans a clear look at her recovery progress.
She posted videos of herself training at the National Tennis Centre in London.
The clips show her doing jump variations and hitting a few shots on court.
She no longer wears a medical walking boot.
Her caption read: "Omw :)) 🌶️🦂 season."
This is the first public sign of movement since her season ended early.
Raducanu sustained a stress fracture in her right shin during the Queen's Club tournament in June.
The injury was later diagnosed as a grade-four stress fracture.
It forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon at the last moment.
She then missed the US Open.

She also sat out the entire Asian swing.
She did not play a single match after June 2026.
Before the injury, Raducanu had been playing some of her best tennis in years.
She reached the final at Queen's Club, her first final since winning the 2021 US Open.
She lost to Donna Vekic in that final.
But she also aggravated a pre-existing right shin problem during her run to the final.
That problem turned into a grade-four stress fracture.
Greg Rusedski, a former US Open finalist and former British No. 1, shared his thoughts on Raducanu's extended break.
Speaking on his podcast Off Court with Greg, Rusedski said the time away could benefit her in the long run.
"No question about it, this is probably good for her to have this period away and keep on building her game so she can stay healthy and consistent," Rusedski said.

He added that he knows she is putting in the hours and the hard work.
He said he hopes she can find the joy and love she had at Queen's before the injury.
"It seems like she has a consistent team now and the women's game in Britain in 2027 is looking like it could be a good year," Rusedski said.
Raducanu's 2026 season was filled with setbacks.
She lost in the second round of the Australian Open.
She reached the final at the Transylvania Open but lost to Sorana Cirstea.
She then contracted a viral illness, which led to early exits in her next tournaments.
She exited in the first round at the French Open.
Her grass season started promisingly at Queen's Club.
But the injury cut it short.

Raducanu won the 2021 US Open as a qualifier, a feat that made her a global star.
Since then, she has faced multiple injury and illness setbacks.
She has changed coaches and training setups several times.
Rusedski noted that she now appears to have a consistent team around her.
Raducanu is expected to return at the start of 2027.
The most likely target is the Australian summer.
In 2024, she also ended her year early and returned by playing the United Cup in the first week of 2025.
It remains unclear whether she will choose the United Cup again, or opt for tournaments in Brisbane or Auckland.
For now, the gym videos are the clearest sign that her recovery is on track.
The jump variations suggest she is regaining lower-body strength.

The on-court shots show she is comfortable hitting again.
The absence of the walking boot is the most visible milestone.
Raducanu has not commented further on her exact return date.
But the message in her caption — "Omw" — suggests she feels she is on her way back.
The recovery from a grade-four stress fracture typically takes several months.
Raducanu has now been off the court since June.
That timeline aligns with a potential return in January 2027.
Rusedski's prediction reflects cautious optimism.
He did not guarantee a return to top form.
But he stressed that the break gives her a rare chance to rebuild her game without match pressure.

He also pointed out that British women's tennis is in a stronger place overall.
Katie Boulter has been winning consistently.
Harriett Dart won her first WTA Tour title.
Alex Eala, a rising star from the Philippines, has become the new breakout name on tour.
Eala won her first WTA title in Washington in August.
She reached the fourth round at Wimbledon, beating defending champion Iga Swiatek.
Rusedski called Eala the "No. 1 draw" in women's tennis at the moment.
He predicted she could sell out a 55,000-seat exhibition match in the Philippines.
But he also made clear that Raducanu still has a path back.
"There's still a little bit of question marks," Rusedski said.
He did not elaborate on what those question marks are.
For Raducanu, the immediate goal is simple: stay healthy, train consistently, and return to competition without another setback.
The gym videos suggest she is on schedule.
The tennis world will be watching to see if she can sustain this progress through the off-season.
If she does, 2027 could finally be the year she builds on the promise of 2021.
