Schefter reveals the biggest NFL star who could be traded next week

Adam Schefter, ESPN's most plugged-in NFL insider, has identified the single biggest name still on the trade market with less than a week before the deadline.
That name is Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.
The NFL trade deadline is November 10, 2026.
Teams have until then to swing deals that could reshape their second-half fortunes.
Several big names have already moved.
Jeffery Simmons was the most notable example earlier this month.
The Colts are in a full rebuild after firing general manager Chris Ballard.
They have already traded All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson and Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
Now Schefter says Taylor is the biggest star left who could be moved.

"Jonathan Taylor is the biggest name out there, could be traded at any point in time," Schefter said on his podcast.
"My read on that is that the Indianapolis Colts have offers from teams."
"They're going to wait to see if these teams sweeten the offers, if they can get a better offer."
"And I think in the end, whether it's today, this week, next week, I think in the end they decide to move Jonathan Taylor."
"That's my guess."
Taylor is 27 years old.
He is a three-time Pro Bowl selection.
He has led the NFL in rushing touchdowns in two different seasons.
Those credentials would command a significant return in any trade.

Reports have indicated that Colts ownership does not want to move Taylor.
But Schefter suggests that a package good enough to change their minds could materialize.
The Colts are starting over from scratch.
A star running back in his prime does not fit a rebuilding timeline.
Teams interested in Taylor reportedly include the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and Green Bay Packers.
Not all of them will land him.
Schefter warned that only one team will get Taylor.
And that creates a ripple effect.
"What about Breece Hall?" Schefter asked.

"Yeah. Again, Aaron Glenn on Monday said, We're not looking to trade Breece Hall."
"But we have the Vikings, Giants, Broncos, Packers, others interested in Jonathan Taylor."
"They're all not going to get Jonathan Taylor. One team might get Jonathan Taylor. One team."
"So what happens if and when Jonathan Taylor is traded?"
"Who's the next running back that teams are going to be calling on? Breece Hall."
This is the curveball Schefter is tracking.
The Colts also have receiver Josh Downs as a potential trade piece.
Schefter said he thinks the Colts will eventually move Downs too.
But the biggest domino remains Taylor.

Schefter also floated another name that could surprise everyone: quarterback Daniel Jones.
Jones signed a two-year, $88 million contract extension with the Colts in March.
He has struggled this season, completing 60.4 percent of his passes for 1,542 yards, six total touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
"What about Daniel Jones?" Schefter said.
"Could the Baltimore Ravens make a run at Daniel Jones? Could the Minnesota Vikings make a run at Daniel Jones?"
"And I'm not telling you that they're trading there."
"I'm just telling you, sometimes it's the curve ball that you don't see, right?"
Jones had a brief stint with the Vikings in 2024.
He never played a snap for Minnesota, but he developed respect for head coach Kevin O'Connell.

"I always thought I worked really hard, I tried to work really hard, and it was important for me to prepare; watching film, study. I think I did that," Jones said.
"But going to Minnesota, I saw how Sam [Darnold] prepared. I saw how Kevin [O'Connell] prepared those guys, Josh McCown, Grant Udinski, that crew, and how detailed they were, day-in-and-day-out on every little bit of the plan."
"How they're going to study it. What they're looking for, walking through it, quizzing each other in the quarterback room. That made a big impression on me."
The Vikings are struggling at quarterback with Kyler Murray.
They could be a team that makes a last-minute offer for Jones.
But Colts head coach Shane Steichen has repeatedly said Jones is the team's starter going forward.
If the Colts do trade Jones, they would likely turn to Anthony Richardson for the rest of the season.
For now, Taylor is the name Schefter says is the biggest on the market.
The deadline is November 10.
Between now and then, offers could be sweetened.
Decisions could be made.
And if Taylor moves, the next call might be about Breece Hall.
